  • Jane L. Forrest ,Dr. Forrest is the Director of the National Center for Dental Hygiene Research at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry, Los Angeles, CA. Under Dr. Forrest's leadership, the National Center and the DHNet website [http://www.usc.edu/dhnet] were established, and with her current grant on “Integrating an Evidence-Based Decision Making Approach into Health Curricula,” a Faculty Development Institute program was implemented along with a new website.   • Syrene A. Miller ,Syrene Miller is the Project Manager for the national Center for Dental Hygiene Research at the University of Southern California, School of Dentistry. She is involved in creating and maintaining the Website. Evidence-Based News and in developing curriculum materials for Faculty Development Institutes that teach health professionals and educators how to integrate an evidence-based approach. Syrene also serves as a lead faculty member in the Institute., Ms. Miller has presented at national and International dental, dental hygiene, and allied health conferences on integrating an Evidence-Based approach into education, practice and research, and on enhancing dental practice and classroom presentations through the use of Internet technology and PowerPoint. Syrene is the co-author with Jane Forrest on “An Evidence-Based Approach in Dental Hygiene Practice, Education, and Research”, a white paper for the American Dental Hygienists’ Association.   • James D. Kettering ,Dr. Kettering is a Professor of Microbiology in the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology at Loma Linda University Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. A clinically oriented microbiologist, he has been involved in dental research since the late 1970's, especially in endodontic research. He is a member of the American Association of Dental Research and an associate member of the American Association of Endodontics. He received his MS (1968) and PhD (1974) from Loma Linda University Graduate School and did a post-doctoral at the State Health Laboratory in Berkeley, CA.   • Joni A. Stephens ,Joni Stephens is an Associate Professor of Dental Hygiene in the School of dentistry at Loma Linda University. She received her Dental Hygiene education from Loma Linda University, Loma Linda CA and her Master in Education from Columbia University. From 1982 to July 1993, Ms. Stephens served as Chair of the Dental Hygiene program. She is currently Director of the undergraduate Research Mentorship Program for the Hygiene and Dental students. Her research interests include dental unit waterlines, disinfectants and caries prevention. She is member of several national and international dental and hygiene organizations.,

  • Carlos A. Muñoz-Viveros ,Dr. Muñoz-Viveros is a graduate of Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña in the Dominican Republic, where he received his DDS degree in 1978. From 1980 to 1981, he received an American DDS and Masters degree in Prosthodontics from Indiana University. Dr. Muñoz is a member of several professional organizations and is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. He has presented lectures in Central and South America, the United States, Asia and in Europe. He has authored over 50 scientific articles, contributed to clinical textbooks, and serves as a journal reviewer. His research focus is in dental adhesives, composite restorations and ceramic materials.   • W. Patrick Naylor ,Dr. Naylor is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and a retired colonel in the U.S. Air Force Dental Corps. A prosthodontist by training, he received his dental degree from Georgetown University School of Dentistry, a Certificate in Prosthodontics from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, an MPH degree from the Harvard School of Public Health, and a MS degree in dental materials from Indiana University. Dr. Naylor has authored and co-authored numerous abstracts, articles, and chapters in textbooks and is a member of several professional organizations. He has written two books, Introduction to Metal Ceramic Technology (Quintessence Publishing Co.) and 10 Steps to Financial Success. A Beginner's Guide to Saving and Investing (John Wiley & Sons, Inc.) and has created a self-paced, personal finance CD-ROM program geared for health professionals through Loma Linda University School of Dentistry.,

  • Mary Ann Haisch ,Mary Ann Haisch is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dental Hygiene in the School of Dentistry at the Oregon Health Science University. She also serves as and educational consultant for the Procter & Gamble Company. In addition to her interest in oral health promotion, her other areas of expertise include the use of interactive communication in dental education and the development of faculty tools for the incorporation of interactive materials in dentaland dental hygiene courses.   • Nora L. Cromley ,Nora Cromley is currently Associate Dean for Admissions and Student Affairs at Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry. She was an Assistant Professor in Dental Hygiene Department at OHSU for 15 years. Nora was an officer in Oregon Dental Hygienists’ Association, was appointed as an educational consultant for the Council on Dental Accreditation, and is currently serving as an officer in the Student Affairs Section for the American Dental Education Association., Ms. Cromley received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from Ohio State University and earned a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Hawaii.,
